The Artist

As a young girl in Indiana, Sarah developed a strong appreciation for the outdoors and loved playing make believe in the open green fields of grass. With a healthy imagination and love for anything creative, Sarah’s most precious times were either creating crafts for family or spending as much time outdoors with her sister gathering frogs or building forts.

As life brought her to Marco Island Florida as a teenager, at an early age she began to ultimately know what she wanted to do with her life. Nursing. Through middle school, high school and eventually the University of Florida, Sarah knew exactly what she was called to do. With the support of her family and lifelong friends, she began her nursing career in Gainesville, Fl at Shand Medical Center at the University of Florida. This calling brought her to Atlanta in the mid 90’s, there she married and had three wonderful boys.

During this time, she found a release from the daily tasks of motherhood, and the stress of being a critical care nurse. Sarah taught herself the art of painting in the medium of watercolor. It did not take long for neighbors, colleagues and acquaintances to see her obvious talents. Sarah would continue to do portrait commissions, paint as a hobby and sometimes sell a piece here or there.

As life happens, Sarah remarried in 2020, with the complete support and encouragement of her loving husband, Dave and her now five boys, 3 sons and 2 stepsons, Sarah has decided to turn a part time hobby, lifelong passion for art, and the advantage of time into a little venture and share her art with all of you. Being an Emory CVICU Nurse and Unit Nurse Educator for over 30 years and although she is now working at Prisma in Greenville, SC, it’s time to take a step back and focus on her passion.

She hopes you enjoy.
